US firms, around 450 in all, make up the third-largest group of foreign companies in the Düsseldorf region, preceded only by the Netherlands and Japan. Most of them operate in innovative industries such as information technology, the media, biotechnology or medical technology. Attending to the needs of these companies is an important part of the efforts of the Office of Economic Development .
To increase the diversity and internationality of its business landscape, Düsseldorf has launched a long-term incentive to secure investments from US companies in industries with excellent potential for the future. Special focus is on large cities such as Chicago and Atlanta.
