Office of Economic Development - European affairs
Located in the heart of Europe
As European integration forges ahead, the share of EU-related political work in German increases. Today some 80 percent of the laws and regulations implemented on communal level originate from Brussels.
The European Affairs department of the Office of Economic Development is committed to linking the city with European institutions and networks. Acting as a central information resource on European matters, the department reviews, classifies and distributes EU information to the relevant departments. We also monitor current developments in European funding and support city departments in applying for grants and implementing their EU projects.
Efficiently communicating EU-related information to Düsseldorf citizens and businesses is part of this expertise. We firmly believe that the project of a unified Europe will best succeed if people and organisations make the European idea their own and implement it in their sphere of influence.
