Discover Düsseldorf: The Fashion City - from Armani to Second-hand
CPD fashion fair
GDS Shoe Fair
Creative fashion city steeped in tradition
Düsseldorf's citizens have always been fashion-conscious. But only with the inception in 1949 of the Igedo trade fair for womenwear did its career as an international fashion hub start and it
start to draw the fashion scene from all over the world to visit its fairs.
Today, creative fashion impulses in Düsseldorf come from the fashion schools and countless fashion designers. You can watch the fashion designers at work during the annual Tour d'Atelier.
International platform for the fashion industry
The CPD fair has been staged under the umbrella of the Igedo since the 80ies and is a must for anyone working in the industry. At the world's largest fashion fair, the crème de la crème of the sector meets twice a year, and presents the latest trends and most beautiful looks. Even in matters related to shoe fashion, Düsseldorf is the place for industry players: the International Shoe Fair has been the number 1 fair for years.

Whether you are just window-shopping, or whether there is money burning a hole in your pocket, the Königsallee, with its elegant shopping passages and shops presents what is considered the last word in the world of fashion. Young fashion in the Old Town
The Old Town is the top address for new fashion trends. Small boutiques, second-hand shops, designer labels and clothing chains - many people stroll through the narrow alleys in their search for hip clothing or unusual accessories. You can get an overview of what's on offer on the website of the Old Town.
Forget Paris, London or Milan! Düsseldorfers know exactly where the real fashion centre is: right in their midst. Proof? The fashion fair CPD is held
here twice a year, the Königsallee is packed with designer shops while young, creative fashion designers are creating their own collections.
The fact that Düsseldorf is also an elegant, multi-faceted shopping metropolis goes without saying: Königsallee, Schadowstraße and the Old Town can fulfil almost any shopping list.
