Culture and spirit - Old Town

Almost everyone has heard about it, the legendary Old Town of Düsseldorf. But the Old Town is more than just a pleasure spot: numerous churches, historical buildings and many museums all make a visit worthwhile!

Königsallee, called , is said to be one of the most beautiful boulevards in the world. It is partitioned by the long city moat. The more than 200 trees that form the picture of the exclusive shopping mile are a characteristic feature of the magnificent boulevard. Sculptures, fountains and decorative bridges join the two sides of the Kö: on the western side, there are mainly banks; on the eastern side are the elegant boutiques, galleries and shopping passages that make the hearts of shopping enthusiasts skip a beat. If you don't want to stroll along the Kö on your own, you can also take part in a guided tour.

Modern and trendy - Media Harbour

Do you feel like looking at an unusual building? The MedienHafen or Media Harbour is a successful example of modern city development and impresses with the imaginative architecture and the countless restaurants and bars. The Rheinturm with its breathtaking view of the city is an ideal starting point for trip around the harbour.

Travel through the ages - Art axis

Düsseldorf got its reputation as a city of art very early on thanks to the famous collection of paintings owned by the Elector Jan Wellem. Today, the Art Academy and the many museums shape the artistic side of city life.

Schloss Benrath (Benrath Palace)

Schloss Benrath is a major tourist attraction. Elector Karl Theodor built the pleasure and hunting palace more than 200 years ago in the southern part of Düsseldorf. The late baroque ensemble of palace and park is considered one of the most important of its kind.

Fair, jazz, Christmas market

Düsseldorfers love to celebrate, like at the time of the carnival, when hundreds of thousands of carnival followers crowd the city. Düsseldorf is among the bastions of the Rhine carnival. But even the regular events like the largest fair along the Rhine, the Japan Day, the Jazz Rally or the Christmas markets attract visitors from within Germany and from abroad every year.
