Mayor Thomas Geisel addresses the people of Düsseldorf in a video message and explains how the state capital Düsseldorf intends to proceed faced by the Corona Virus. Simultaneously, he appealed to general practitioners to participate in the diagnostic centre he has proposed.
On Monday and Tuesday afternoon, 2nd and 3rd March, from 1:30 to 5 pm, the city will establish a temporary diagnostic centre in the health authority offices, Kölner Straße 180 (side entrance) for the people of Düsseldorf and those working there, where the necessary test for the Corona Virus will be carried out. From Monday 4th March, premises will be provided for this purpose at a central point. No one should take it into his/her own hands to visit this diagnostic centre. Anyone who fears that they have been infected with the virus must refer to the information line under the number 0211-8996090. Trained staff will then investigate whether the suspicion that one has been infected is justified. Should this be the case, an appointment in the diagnostic centre will be given immediately on the telephone. Anyone who visits the diagnostic centre without an appointment will be turned away, since the necessary investigation cannot be carried out there. Anyone who does not live or work in Düsseldorf can ring the number 116117.
Finally, the Mayor addresses himself to the people of Düsseldorf: "It is important now that all those who are able to contribute to stopping and solving this crisis stand together and that everyone, in spite of the understandable commotion, keeps a cool head. That is what I would like to wish for you and everyone. Many thanks."
