Member of Düsseldorf fire brigade tested positive for Corona Virus

A member of the Düsseldorf fire brigade has now been tested positive for the Corona Virus. The fireman, who was born in 1981 and comes from Heinsberg district, is only mildly ill and is already on the road to recovery. He is now in quarantine at home, as are the eleven persons with whom he had Category 1 contact.

Two of those eleven contact persons are currently being tested for the Corona Virus, as they too are showing mild symptoms of illness. Whether there are further contact persons is under investigation at the present time. The checks were made quickly and in very close coordination with the health office.

The Düsseldorf fire brigade continues to be able to provide all its services in full, and there is no need for an interruption of the operations carried out at the fire and rescue station concerned. The case has not caught the Düsseldorf fire brigade unprepared: a fire brigade command unit set up for the purpose has been meeting daily for some days now, in order to assess the current situation at the fire brigade and coordinate all the necessary measures. The necessary technical and organisational measures are defined in a coordinated phased model.
