Useful information for your visit

  • The museum layout is fully accessible.
  • Wheelchair accessible lifts and toilets are available.
  • Guide dogs are allowed. Other animals must not be brought into the exhibition.
  • For children, there are extra platforms and steps to facilitate seeing into the enclosures and aquariums, as well as numerous elements designed just for them. A changing table for babies is available. There are three playgrounds in the surrounding Nordpark area.
  • The institute has no cafeteria, and it is prohibited to eat and drink in the exhibition areas, but a café restaurant is located nearby.
  • A museum guide and a childrens guide, in German, are available for purchase in the shop. Audio guides are available in English, German and plain German for a small rental fee.
