Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen,

am kommenden Wochenende empfängt die Landeshauptstadt Düsseldorf internationale Gäste: Mehr als 30 Delegationen aus 23 Ländern diskutieren von Freitag, 30. August, bis Sonntag, 1. September, Antworten auf aktuelle Herausforderungen für Großstädte. Oberbürgermeister Thomas Geisel wird Stadtrepräsentanten unter anderem aus Metropolen wie Moskau, New York, Kalkutta und Dhaka, der Hauptstadt von Bangladesh, zur Konferenz "Second Mayors Summit on Living Together" begrüßen.

Folgende Termine sind für Ihre Berichterstattung geeignet:

Freitag, 30. August:

Oberbürgermeister Thomas Geisel wird die Delegationen bei einem Willkommens-Empfang und zum Eintrag in das Goldene Buch begrüßen am

Freitag, 30. August, 17 Uhr

im Jan-Wellem-Saal des Rathauses, Marktplatz 1. Anschließend wird Magda Popeanu, Vize-Vorsitzende des Stadtrates, ein Grußwort im Namen der Konferenzteilnehmer sprechen. Anschließend haben Sie die Möglichkeit, an einer kurzen Stadtrundfahrt in zwei HopOn-HopOff-Bussen mit den Delegationsteilnehmern teilzunehmen.

Es gibt die Möglichkeit, Fotos sowie Videoaufnahmen zu machen. Im Anschluss an den Termin wird Ihnen ein Gruppenfoto im Medienportal zur Verfügung gestellt. Der Empfang wird konsekutiv ins Englische übersetzt.

Samstag, 31. August:

Am Samstag, 31. August, wird Oberbürgermeister Thomas Geisel um 9.30 Uhr mit Niels Annen, Staatsminister im Auswärtigen Amt, die Diskussion zu den wichtigen globalen Zukunftsfragen für Metropolen im Lindner Congress Hotel offiziell eröffnen. Der Konferenztag mit Keynotes, Workshops und Diskussionen ist den Delegationen vorbehalten und findet unter Ausschluss der Öffentlichkeit statt. Sie haben allerdings die Möglichkeit, sich mit Gesprächspartnern aus den Reihen der Delegationen zwischen 11 und 16 Uhr in den Presseräumen im Lindner Congress Hotel, Lütticher Straße 130, zu treffen. Bitte wenden Sie sich mit Gesprächswünschen direkt an die Ansprechpartner, die wir gemeinsam mit der Delegationsliste veröffentlicht haben (aktualisiert auch nochmal im Anhang).

Im Anschluss an den Konferenztag findet ein Empfang mit Unterzeichnung einer "Düsseldorf Declaration" statt am

Auch hier haben Sie die Möglichkeit, Fotos und Videoaufnahmen zu machen. Zudem können Sie mit den Delegationsteilnehmern bei einem Flying Dinner ins Gespräch kommen.

Sonntag, 1. September:

Die Ergebnisse der Konferenz sollen der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht werden. Dazu wird Oberbürgermeister Thomas Geisel gemeinsam mit Oberbürgermeister Armand Béouindé (Ouagadougou), OB Abdelkhalek Siouda (Algier), Vize-OB Michal Olszewski (Warschau) sowie der Vize-Vorsitzenden des Stadtrates Magda Popeanu (Montreal) die Konferenzergebnisse und die daraus resultierende digitale Ausstellung vorstellen am

im NRW-Forum, Ehrenhof 2.

Sie haben die Möglichkeit, Fotos und Videoaufnahmen zu machen und die Ausstellung zu betrachten.

Zu allen Terminen sind Sie und Ihre Fotografen/Kameraleute herzlich eingeladen. Bitte beachten Sie, dass für alle Termine eine Akkreditierung bis Donnerstag, 29. August notwendig ist.

Hinweise zur Akkreditierung:
Bitte melden Sie sich für die Berichterstattung zur Konferenz mit Ihrem Namen, der Angabe Ihres Mediums und einer Kopie Ihres Presseausweises per E-Mail an akkreditierung@duesseldorf.de bis Donnerstag, 29. August, an.

Sie haben dabei die Wahl, sich entweder 1. nur für die Pressekonferenz am Sonntag, 1. September, im NRW-Forum zur Präsentation der Konferenzergebnisse anzumelden oder 2. zu der Pressekonferenz und dem Flying Dinner am Vorabend (Samstag, 31. August). Zudem haben Sie die Möglichkeit, sich 3. für die gesamte Konferenzbegleitung zu akkreditieren. Dazu gehört die Teilnahme am Empfang im Rathaus am Freitag, 30. August, die Vereinbarung von Terminen im Presseraum am Konferenztag, 31. August, 11 bis 16 Uhr im Tagungshotel und der Empfang in der Tonhalle sowie die Pressekonferenz am Sonntag, 1. September. Bitte beachten Sie, dass Sie Ihre Kontaktanfragen für Meetings mit teilnehmenden Städtevertretern direkt an die Kontakte auf der beigefügten Liste richten. Wir bitten höflich um eine Nachricht, in welcher Zeit zwischen 11 und 16 Uhr Sie einen Presseraum für ein Meeting mit einem Delegationsteilnehmer benötigen. Bitte haben Sie Verständnis, dass wir keine weitere Kontaktkoordination übernehmen können. Die Workshops sind ausschließlich den Delegationen vorbehalten und können daher nicht begleitet werden.

next weekend, the state capital Düsseldorf will host international guests: More than 30 delegations from 23 countries will discuss answers to current challenges for large cities from Friday, 30 August to Sunday, 1 September. Saturday, August 31st:

On Saturday, 31 August, Mayor Thomas Geisel will officially open the discussion on the important global future issues for metropolises in the Lindner Congress Hotel with Niels Annen, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office, at 9.30 am. The conference day with keynotes, workshops and discussions is reserved for delegations and will take place in camera. However, they have the opportunity to meet with discussion partners from the ranks of the delegations between 11 am and 4 pm in the press rooms of the Lindner Congress Hotel, Lütticher Straße 130. Please contact the contact persons we have published together with the list of delegations (updated again in the appendix) directly if you would like to speak with them.

Following the conference day, a reception with the signing of a "Düsseldorf Declaration" will take place on

You and your photographers/cameramen are cordially invited to all dates. Please note that for all events an accreditation until Thursday, August 29th is necessary.

Information on accreditation:
For reporting on the conference, please register with your name, your medium and a copy of your press card by e-mail to akkreditierung@duesseldorf.de by Thursday, 29 August.

You have the choice of either 1. registering only for the press conference on Sunday, September 1 in the NRW-Forum to present the conference results or 2. registering for the press conference and the flying dinner on the evening before (Saturday, August 31). In addition, you have the possibility to accredit yourself for the entire conference attendance. This includes participation in the reception in the Town Hall on Friday, 30 August, the arrangement of appointments in the press room on the conference day, 31 August, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the conference hotel and the reception in the Tonhalle as well as the press conference on Sunday, 1 September. Please note that for meetings with participating city representatives, contact the contacts on the attached list directly. We kindly ask you to let us know when you will need a press room for a meeting with a delegation member between 11 and 16 hrs.
