How is the social security system organized in Germany? How does the German pension system work and how are the public pension benefits calculated? These and many other questions will be answered during the event.

The German social security system consists of five components which are: pension-, health-, accident-, nursing care- and unemployment insurance. As a statutory security system it provides a very good and efficient security against different risks. In addition it provides high standards and quality of living as well as ensures the pension benefits.

A very important component of the social security system is the pension insurance. During the event an expert from the “Deutsche Rentenversicherung Rheinland“ will introduce the German pension system, followed by the presentation of a manager from KPMG, which is one of the leading consulting companies worldwide. The speaker will introduce the pension insurance in Germany which applies for expats, international employees and companies.

Institutions & Speakers

Deutsche Rentenversicherung Rheinland” is one of 16 regional agencies of statutory pension insurance. This public organization offers consultations for citizens and companies regarding questions like pension, retirement provision and social security provision as well as provides support for application.

Ulrike Jatzkowski works since 1995 at the “Deutsche Rentenversicherung Rheinland” with the main focus on customer support.

KPMG belongs to the so called Big Four consulting companies and is therefore one of the leading auditing com-panies worldwide. The company is active in 154 countries and has 25 offices in Germany. High qualified and experienced employees support and consult DAX-companies as well as Start-ups from different fields of industry and economy.

Daniel Schütz works for many years as a consultant at KPMG with the focus on social security insurance in the department of Global Mobility Services and supports local and international customers regarding questions of social security, especially pension benefits.

This event is organized by the Expat Service Desk, which is a platform for international professionals, their families and SMEs from Düsseldorf and the County of Mettmann. The Expat Service Desk is offering initial information, consultations and events concerning living and working in the region. The project partners of the Expat Service Desk are the Office of Economic Development of Düsseldorf and the County of Mettmann as well as the Düsseldorf Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
