"Düsseldorf – the hidden champion" was the title of the presentation held by Mayor Thomas Geisel

Warsaw – a sister city of Düsseldorf – has increasingly established itself as a business location for the creative and digital sector. Innovative Start-ups and SME from Warsaw are interested in entering the Western European market.

Subsequently, 70 young entrepreneurs attended the first investment seminar for the Polish businesses organized by the Düsseldorf Office of Economic Development in cooperation with NRW.INVEST on 27th October 2016.

Consultants, company representatives and players from the digital and start up ecosystem in Düsseldorf/North Rhine-Westphalia shared their experience and expertise with Polish participants and provided information about market access and their services.

In their welcome addresses Thomas Geisel, Mayor of Düsseldorf, and Michał Olszewski, Deputy Mayor of Warsaw, stressed that both sister cities offer ideal opportunities for successful business cooperation: Warsaw as the gateway to Eastern Europe for Düsseldorf-based companies and Düsseldorf as the gateway to Western Europe for companies from Warsaw.
