Purpose of the survey
The data obtained through the survey will be used exclusively for statistical purposes within the meaning of Section 17 of the North Rhine-Westphalia Data Protection Act (DSG NRW). In order to continuously improve the siren warning system of the state capital Düsseldorf, the survey will, among other aspects, collect data on how well the sirens could be heard during the test alarm, depending on the location of the respondents.
Participation
Participation in the survey is voluntary.
By participating in the survey, you consent to the processing of the data you provide in accordance with Article 7 of the GDPR.
Procedure
The survey will be conducted as an open online survey. The internet link or QR code for accessing the online survey will be published in a press release, on the social media channels of the state capital Düsseldorf, on Rheinbahn advertising boards, etc. In case you have any questions, please call 0211 8993387 or send an email to befragungen@duesseldorf.de.
As part of the survey, you will be asked for your location at the time of the siren test alarm. You have the option of sharing your location via Google Maps and displaying it on the map. If you use the Google Maps function, personal data will be collected. By sharing your location, you consent to the collection, processing and use of the automatically collected data and any additional data you may have entered by Google Inc. or its representatives. You can object to this use by deactivating location sharing on your device (Android/iOS) or disabling the JavaScript function in your browser. Please note that even if you mark a location manually on the map, the corresponding location coordinates will be transmitted to Google. Google Maps is operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. The terms of use for Google Maps can be found here.
The purpose of requesting your location is solely to record the perception of the siren test alarm in the Düsseldorf city area. No conclusions can be drawn about your person. The statistical confidentiality of your data is fully guaranteed in accordance with the provisions of the North Rhine-Westphalia Data Protection Act (DSG NRW). The survey is conducted and evaluated in the isolated statistics office of the state capital Düsseldorf by persons who are bound to secrecy and data protection. In order to improve the siren warning system, the data collected in the survey will also be made available to the fire brigade and the surveying and cadastral office of the state capital Düsseldorf.
Right to information and objection
In accordance with Articles 15 and 18 of the GDPR, you have the right to obtain information about the data collected and stored in the context of this survey and to object to its processing. However, in accordance with Section 17(5) of the DSG NRW, this does not apply to data collected for statistical purposes, as this data can no longer be attributed to you. It is therefore factually impossible to delete your data.
